Daisy Jones & The Six – Taylor Jenkins Reid
I quite enjoyed this. I didn’t think it was my kind of book but I was pleasantly surprised.
As many people know by now, it is a ‘fictionalized biography’ inspired by (and partially based on?) the real-life band Fleetwood Mac. Taylor Jenkins Reid has a great writing style and I also think the audio adds a bit of something ‘extra’. It is a full cast audiobook, which I don’t usually like but it worked in this case!
Here’s the ‘official’ blurb:
Daisy Jones & The Six
Everybody knows Daisy Jones and the Six.
Their sound defined an era. Their albums were on every turntable. They sold out arenas from coast to coast.
Then, on 12 July 1979, Daisy Jones walked barefoot onto the stage at Chicago Stadium. And it all came crashing down.
Everyone was there.
Everyone remembers it differently.
Nobody knew why they split. Until now . . .
